Kippax Knights RL have found an intriguing way to support Try Assist, the RFL Benevolent Fund. In conjunction with GR8 Sports of Stockport, they are donating all their monies from a ten man team who will cycle from Skipsea via Driffield to Kippax. The challenge was originally perceived to raise monies for a memorial kit in aid of Lindsay Rudge who lost her life tragically in a car accident five years ago. However, impressed by the enthusiasm, commitment and integrity of Kippax Knights, GR8 Sports of Stockport kindly donated a set of strip for free. This has enabled Kippax Knights to raise money for Try Assist from their forthcoming cycle ride.

Dave Jessey said, “We are delighted that with the support of GR8 Sports of Stockport we are able to remember Lindsay Rudge who was a great supporter of the Kippax club, and at the same time support the wider rugby league family of the RFL Benevolent Fund.”

Steve Ball, Try Assist General Manager, added, “The Kippax Knights have always been staunch supporters of our cause and with the support of their kit sponsors have now found a unique way of raising monies for ours and other worthy causes.”

GR8 Sports became aware of the Lindsey Rudge Memorial Team through our supply partnership with Kippax Knights ARLFC. When we heard that the donation of a playing kit would enable an increase in the team’s contribution to the RFL Benevolent fund we were more than delighted to help out.

The RFL Benevolent fund does a superb job in supporting and assisting people who are suffering hardship and distress as a result of injury while playing Rugby League. This great work is supported by some great contributors and volunteers. We are proud that as a company which enjoys some of its revenue from the game we can in some way support such a good cause.
