The RFL Benevolent Fund have helped to form the Garry Purdham Memorial Trust. Garry played professional rugby for Whitehaven and Workington Town for over 12 years before returning to Egremont Rangers. He was a stalwart of the game and lost his life tragically; a victim of the Cumbrian Shootings. He left behind a loving wife, Ros, and two cherished children, Cameron aged 8 and Flynn aged 2.
